Prank callers use anti-terrorism hotline to 'request songs'
NACTA sources identified and took actions against prank callers on counter-terrorism help-line.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) help line became a source of entertainment for the citizens as many were found making prank calls to request songs , Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
According to the details, majority of the callers demanded to listen to their favourite songs from the operators. Action has been taken against six for making prank calls after which at least two were arrested.
Requests for songs were made in 57046 out of the 58591 calls received by NACTA during January 9 to December 2, 2015. According to NACTA sources, only 1545 calls were actionable out of which action was taken on 63 calls.
During this year from January 1 to February 16, 8160 calls were received out of which 8020 callers were a demand by the caller to put on their favorite tunes. Out of these only 140 calls were actionable and action was taken on 115 calls. According to NACTA sources, two fake callers were arrested and legal actions were directed.against 6 callers.
