CCP takes notice of escalating air fares of private airlines

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) on Wednesday took notice of the escalating air fares of private airlines. The Commission has also decided on investigating the matter.
According to the details, CCP declared that the rise in air fare by private airlines was an exploitation of the passengers.
CCP stated that the matter of collective rise in prices of tickets will be investigated.
The Commission also added that disciplinary action will be taken against those airlines who were practicing the hike.
The price hike occured after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended all their flight operations in a strike against a privatization move by the government.
Thousands of passengers are facing extreme difficulties in reaching their destinations as the strike of PIA employees continue.
