Rangers didn't return Dr Asim's Canadian passport: family
In the last hearing at the accountability court, Dr Asim's remand was extended in NAB's custody
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain’s family has claimed that law enforcement agency confiscated Canadian passport of the terror accused after arrest, Dunya News reported Saturday.
While talking to the media in Sindh High Court (SHC) premises, family of the former minister stated that Dr Asim is a Canadian citizen. However, the passport was confiscated after his arrest.
The family alleged Pakistan Rangers of not returning alleged terror facilitator’s passport.
The family has demanded the authorities to intervene the issue and get Dr Asim’s passport returned. The former petroleum minister is facing a terror case registered at North Nazimabad Police Station in November 2015.
Dr Asim allegedly provided shelter to target killers and terrorists in name of treatment at his hospital in Karachi.
The accused is also facing a case in Accountability Court (AC). National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is probing corruption reference against Dr Asim.
In the last hearing at the accountability court, Dr Asim’s remand was extended in NAB’s custody.
