Five bombs planted near electricity pylon neutralised in Peshawar
Reportedly, the pressure cookers used to make bombs are made in Afghanistan.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Peshawar on Thursday defused five home-made bombs planted near an electricity pylon, Dunya News reported.
As per details, some locals spotted the pressure cooker bombs near a 132 kv tower close to Jameel Chowk on Ring Road and informed police about it.
BDS officials arrived at the scene and neutralised the bombs. An official said that each bomb weighed around four kilograms. Reportedly, the pressure cookers are made in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, police launched a search operation in the area to nab the miscreants, however, no arrest has been made so far.
Earlier on Wednesday, the security forces claimed to have recovered a large cache of foreign-made-weapons during a search operation in Peshawar.
Security forces said that foreign-made-weapons were seized during raids at various godowns on GT Road in Peshawar.
The recovered weapons include M-4 rifles, different types of snipers and telescopes.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), these military grade weapons are under use of armed forces of various countries. Same weapons were used in a recent terrorist attack in Pakistan.

The army has been pounding militant hideouts in the tribal areas on the border with Afghanistan since June 2014, disrupting operations for the Tehreek-e-Taliban militants, who have been waging a war against the state for over a decade, killing tens of thousands.
Because of that campaign, analysts say the extremists have turned to attacking soft targets such as schools.
So far, more than three thousand terrorists have been killed in ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan tribal region.
