Peshawar: Foreign-made fire arms recovered from ware-houses
Recovered arms were of military-grade, army and special troops of many countries use such weapons
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Security forces on Wednesday recovered huge quantity of fire arms from warehouses in Peshawar, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, raids were carried out in Peshawar’s outskirts on GT Road and Kohat road area after receiving information about the foreign made weapons being sold in the area, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During joint raids of police and intelligence agencies, huge cache of weapons were recovered from ware-houses. Recovered arms were of military-grade and national armies and special troops of many countries use such weapons.
According to ISPR, the seized items included over 1,000 M4 and M6 rifles, MM rifles 39, automatic rifles, telescopes and large number of bullets. The weapon ware-houses were owned by different arm-dealers who allegedly provided weapons to banned outfits involved in several terrorist attacks.
ISPR sources stated that the arms were sent to Peshawar through different dealers and from there these were being sent to different areas of the country. Security agencies said that the arms are of latest design and have been used in the recent terrorist activities.
