PIA privatisation: Joint Action Committee shuts offices across country
The employees threatened to suspend aerial operation from February 2.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Joint Action Committee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Tuesday staged a protest in various cities including Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Quetta against passing the bill of PIA privatization in National Assembly.
Despite the ban on protests inside the premises of the head office by the PIA administration, Joint Action Committee held a protest in front of the head office. The protest was attended by the representative of all the associations of the employees, pilots and officers.

The employees closed all the offices and halted booking, cargo and courier services. The workers stated that government is illegally privatizing PIA which is not accepted at any cost.
They locked all offices and demanded to take back PIA privatization bill.

They also threatened to halt flight operations from February 2 if the government will not take back its decision.
Sohail Baloch said that they are in contact with Civil Aviation, Railway, Steel mills, oil tankers and other institutes and companies’ labour unions and in case of need they all will be with the employees of PIA.
