Zardari elected PPPP president
Zardari succeeds Amin Faheem who had died last month.
GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian s (PPPP) Central Executive Committee on Sunday elected former president Asif Ali Zardari as party’s president, Dunya News reported.
Zardari succeeds Amin Faheem who had died last month. According to details, PPPP CEC met after the main event of Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary and unanimously elected Zardari as the president.
Announcing the decision, PPPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said the federation cannot impose its decision on any province, adding that they will resist any extrajudicial act, whether Governor rule or any other rule. He said PPPP has never been against army.
Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said PPPP CEC has termed federation’s steps akin to weakening the center. He said Rangers carried out the operation with Sindh government’s consent, adding that it is because of the Rangers that situation in the province has improved.
