General Raheel Sharif says that entire nation backs war against terrorism, good governance a must
RAWALPINDI: (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has on Tuesday said that good governance is a must for good results. He said that entire nation backs the war against terrorism, reported Dunya News.
According to Pakistan army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, army chief headed the Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi today. The military leadership of the country discussed the professional military matters and the internal and external security situation of the country.
The conference also examined the progress in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Army chief’s upcoming visit to the United States (US) was also discussed during the meeting. National Action Plan (NAP) and FATA reforms were also brought into discussion during the meeting.
Appreciating the accomplishments in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, army chief said that the army enjoys complete support of the nation against terrorism. He said that good governance is necessary for better results. He added that long-term measures will have to be taken for complete peace in the country.
The inconclusive investigations by Joint Investigation Teams (JIT) are affecting the operation, he said. He also informed the corps commanders about his Saudi Arabia visit. He also directed ensuring the rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDP).
