More rain, snowfall expected in upper parts of Pakistan

The snowfall in Naran during October is an unusual phenomenon, the Met Office reported.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain with thunderstorm and snowfall over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next couple of days.

Rain with thunderstorm may continue at isolated places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu divisions and Upper FATA on Monday.

Rainfall recorded in Islamabad so far was 160 millimeters, Rawalpindi 112, Kamra 88, Murree 75, Muzaffarabad 65 and Faisalabad 13 millimeters.

The hilltops in Naran have received 3 feet and plain areas one foot snow so far. The snowfall in Naran during October is an unusual phenomenon, the Met office reported. 

This morning, temperature of some major cities including Islamabad was recorded at 14°C, Lahore seventeen, Karachi 26°C, Peshawar 15°C, Quetta 8°C, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad 10°C and Murree 6°C.
