Dengue virus intensifies in Multan as 128 test positive
An uncontrolled dengue virus has targeted a number of people in various cities.
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Dengue virus in Multan has intensified as atleast 273 patients were admitted in various government hospitals among which 128 have been confirmed of having the virus.
Over 122 patients belong to Multan whereas four are from Muzaffargarh and one each is from Khanewal and Dera Gazi Khan.
During the past 24 hours, atleast 31 patients on suspicion of containing the virus were admitted in Nishtar hospital of which 29 have been shifted to different wards whereas two have been moved to high dependency unit.
Dengue virus has worsened in Multan, creating fear among the natives as more than 128 patients were tested positive.
The local government has strictly directed people to take precautionary measures to restrict further number of patients.

On the orders of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif anti-dengue campaign was also launched in the province but no significant results were taken.
CM Punjab had directed the administration to remain alert over dengue virus across Punjab.
In a statement issued from Lahore, CM Punjab ordered to launch anti-dengue awareness campaign in the province and said that every department has to fulfill its duty to fight this virus.
He said that the authorities have been told to lodge FIR against the violators especially tyre shops owners.
There is no treatment for dengue, which causes symptoms including fever, severe joint pain, headaches and bleeding.
About half the world s population is at risk from the mosquito-borne disease, which sickens about 100 million people every year, mostly in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
People have been advised to use mosquito nets and insect repellents and to avoid storing water in open pots where the larvae can breed.
