Two terrorists killed, intelligence officer martyred in Karachi clash

KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least two suspected terrorists were killed and an intelligence officer lost his life during exchange of fire in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi on Monday night.

Rangers, police and intelligence agency personnel faced armed resistance as they raided a building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Block 13-D.

According to police spokesperson, two suspected terrorists identified as Abdul Ahad and Muhammad Saleh were killed while intelligence officer Major Sajjad was martyred during the clash.

The terrorists belonged to a banned organization.

Controversial literature and different weapons were recovered during search in the building. A woman was also taken into custody. She has been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

Policemen have also confiscated a motorcycle from the scene.

According to sources, terrorists hiding in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D were key commanders of Al-Qaeda and they were planning a major attack in the city. They were also involved in Safoora Chowrangi bus carnage.
