PP-100: PML-N wins by-election in Gujranwala with massive margin

According to unofficial, unverified results, Rana Akhtar won the by-election by over 21,000 votes

GUJRANWALA: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Rana Akhtar Ali has on Sunday defeated Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ehsanullah Virk by massive margin in PP-100 by-election. Rana Akhtar Ali defeated Virk by over 21,000 votes in the by-election, reported Dunya News.

According to unofficial, unverified results, PML-N has won its seat again in the by-election. Rana Akhtar Ali bagged 49,991 votes while his opponent, the PTI candidate, Ehsanullah Virk could secure only 28,380 votes.

The by-election was held on PP-100 after PML-N’s Rana Shamshad Ahmed Khan died. PML-N awarded the ticket to Rana Shamshad’s brother Rana Akhtar Ali Khan.

Celebrations were seen at Rana Akhtar’s home after the victory. League workers danced on the beats of Dhol to celebrate the victory. Rana Akhtar Ali Khan said that he was thankful to the voters for his win and will work for people’s welfare only.
