Demanding Speaker's resignation illegal: Pervaiz Rashid
Under which article of the constitution Imran demanding speakers resignation, asks Info Minister
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s demand regarding Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s resignation was illegal, reported Dunya News. “Under which article of the constitution is Imran Khan demanding Speaker’s resignation?” asked Information Minister.
Talking to media representatives on Monday outside Parliament House, Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan did not repeat the allegations before Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) that he generally iterates in public. “Imran Khan didn’t say anything before the CEC that he used to say while standing on the container in D-Chowk”, he said. “Had he been speaking the truth, he would have raised the issue of ballot papers before the CEC”, he added. “Imran Khan always used to say that fake ballot papers were published in Urdu Bazar of Lahore for Elections 2013. He must know that ballot papers are no lottery tickets. ECP has laid out rules for the publishing of ballot papers. Ballot papers cannot be published anywhere other than the security printing press”, he said.
Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan has backed off from his allegations regarding publishing of fake ballot papers and is now demanding Ayaz Sadiq’s resignation. He said that Ayaz Sadiq’s votes have increased after recounting in NA-122. He said that Imran Khan never provided any proofs to support his claim.
