Will get journalist-killers convicted in anti-terrorism courts: Pervaiz Rasheed
Pakistani journalists are fulfilling their responsibilities amidst danger atmosphere, he said
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed on Tuesday said that Pakistan has become a dangerous country for journalist and that the government will get murderers of journalists convicted from anti-terrorism court, Dunya News reported.
Addressing an international conference on protection of journalists in Islamabad, Rasheed said that Pakistani journalists are fulfilling their responsibilities amidst danger atmosphere in the country.
Information Minister vowed to take steps to protect journalists. He said the session of committee established for protection of media houses will take place today in which the recommendations will be listed.
He said the government has announced Rs 10 lakh relief package for the families of the deceased journalists and that the cases of the journalist-killers will be tried in the anti-terrorism court.
