PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Friday has approved the resolution against the attack on the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar demanding the federal government to review the foreign policy, formation of effective national security policy and awarding late APS principal Tahira Qazi a civil award for embracing martyrdom while saving the lives of the students.

The assembly session was held today after a gap of at least 24 days chaired by Speaker Asad Qaisar. The resolution was passed by both the opposition and government members.

The grieving families of the APS martyrs were expressed solidarity with in the resolution.

The resolution also demanded off the federal government to arrange safe return of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Afghan Muhajireen. While addressing the participants of the session, opposition leader in the KP Assembly Moulana Lutfur Rehman said that the APS attack united the entire nation. He urged the political parties to cast aside their differences for one common cause. Parliamentary leader of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Sikandar Sherpao demanded off the government to form a combined committee comprising of the parliamentarians to probe the matter. Whereas Provincial Minister for Local Bodies Inayatullah Khan said that their children are being killed and now the time to review the country’s foreign and domestic policies be reviewed.
