Jamaat will wage 'Jihad' against poverty, he said.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday said Jamaat will wage ‘Jihad’ for development and to eliminate poverty. He said that Pakistan and the oppressive section of society can’t go together, adding that those who like United States and Europe should go there, Dunya News reported.

Delivering his concluding address, Jamaat chief said that people want to get rid of Islamabad’s oppressive system and not the country itself.

“If people continue to vote for thieves then how will theft be curbed?” he said.

Haq promised the participants not to lie, backbite and to avoid unlawful property.

He said there are only two sections prevailing in Pakistani society; the oppressor and the oppressed. He said the oppressors are together and don’t hold each other accountable.

Jamaat chief said that Jamaat will bring dissident Balochs back to the national mainstream.

He said mothers are forced to put their own children to death because of poverty, adding that Jamaat wishes to construct Pakistani state along the lines of Madina.

He said those who like America and Europe should settle there.

Criticizing United States, Haq said America must not interfere in Pakistan’s internal matters.
He also lamented at India saying that instead of fighting with Pakistan, India should fight its own poverty.

Earlier, Jamaat’s Secretary General Liaquat Baloch said while addressing the crowd that there should be a full audit of the general elections of 2002, 2008 and 2013 and that the system of the country is being controlled by landlords and feudal lords.

Leaders of Ikhwanil Muslimeen of Egypt and ‘Islamic movements’ from foreign countries including Sudan, Algeria, Jordan, Tunisia, Turkey, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Kashmir addressed the international session of the gathering.

The speakers and participants also prayed for unity of the Muslim world.
