ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday termed the suspension of foreign secretary level dialogue between India and Pakistan regrettable, saying that it is a serious blow to the hope of peace, Dunya News reported.
Regretting the development, Rehman said he hopes India would reconsider its decision so that the dialogue process can advance peacefully.
He said there were positive hints after Pakistani and Indian prime ministers met on May 27 but the suspension of the dialogue has given a serious blow to the hopes and expectations of people on both sides.
JUI-F chief said that even Indian intellectuals disagreed with Narendra Modi’s ‘negative approach’. He said India has to respect the right of self determination of Kashmiri people, adding that the Kashmir conflict must be resolved as per United Nations’ recommendation and wishes of Kashmiri people.
