Imran Khan calls a meeting of party members to discuss protest march on August 14.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chairman Tehrik-e-Insaf, Imran Khan has called a meeting of party members today for consultation about the Long March on August 14.

The meeting to be held today afternoon at 3 pm in Bani Gala would be attended by Shireen Mizari, Javed Hashmi, Asad Umer and Shafqat Mehmood. Assembly member’s Muhammad Ali, Fayaz Chauhan and Sheheryar Afridi are also invited to attend the meeting.
Based on the party guidelines, Imran Khan will discuss prospects of holding a protest march on August 14. The party members will be given a fair chance of defending their stance.

Imran Khan on July 4 said he will cancel his August 14 long march if the federal government accepts his party’s demand of scrutinizing election results of four constituencies.

Khan presented his demands for cancellation of long march after the federal government invited him for a dialogue over the issue.A meeting was held with senior party leaders where Imran Khan demanded that federal government should make a judicial commission under newly nominated Chief Justice of Pakistan to review the rigging allegation in four constituencies. If no irregularities are found in these constituencies, Imran Khan said, he will accept the federal government as legal.

Responding to Iman Khan’s demands Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said that holding a protest march on August 14 would be against the spirit of Independence Day. Terming Khan’s politics as agitational, he said that it can create an impression that Parliament is divided. “As mature politicians, political leadership should show a sense of unity,” he added.

Discussing the demand of PTI to investigate the rigging allegations, Rashid said that it was the job of election tribunals.
