MIRANSHAH (Dunya News) – According to details, at least five unmanned aircrafts fired eight missiles on four compounds and a van in village Dande Darpa Khel near Miranshah area of North Waziristan on early Thursday morning, killing ten people.

Earlier, US drone strike in Dargah Mandi village in North Waziristan on Wednesday night killed six people.

The US drone programme is a source of extreme tension between the two countries.

Islamabad has repeatedly denounced drone attacks on its tribal areas as counterproductive to the overall fight against terror, and that such unilateral actions violate the country’s sovereignty and provoke militancy.

Human rights activists have also condemned drone strikes for the high number of civilian casualties.

The Obama administration claims drones are important in taking out Al Qaeda linked militants.
