Cabinet endorses decisions made by National Security Committee

Federal cabinet meeting chaired by PM Nawaz has concluded in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The federal cabinet met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday with the premier taking the ministers into confidence of decisions taken during yesterday’s meeting of the Cabinet Committee on National Security.

The meeting reviewed overall political situation in the country including national security, economic and ongoing process of dialogue with Taliban for peace.

The Prime Minister briefed the cabinet on his recent visit to China and the development projects finalized during the tour including Pak-China trade corridor for the uplift of the country.

The Interior Minister briefed the cabinet on overall security situation, dialogue process with Taliban and ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar gave detailed briefing on economic situation of the country and upcoming projects.
The cabinet approved policy of the Ministry of Petroleum to import LNG and establishment of a terminal at Karachi Port to import LNG.

Minister for Petroleum informed the meeting that all projects relating to LNG would be completed by the end of this year.
