Power tariff likely to up by Rs1.12 per unit

The NEPRA would give final approval of raise in power tariff tomorrow.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News):-Central Power Purchasing Agency has recommended increasing power tariff by Rs 1.12 as monthly fuel adjustment. 


According to report issued by the Central Power Purchasing Agency, the price of electricity generated out of diesel was counted Rs 20.80 per unit while the cost of electricity generated out of furnace oil was Rs 16.


So far as the rate of electricity generated out of gas is concerned, it is Rs 5.21 while the cost of hydel power is only 8 pasas.


On the other hand, 90 million unit of electricity was lost due to theft and line losses.


In May, about 7.30 billion units were generated and its cost management has been counted Rs 56 billion.


CPPA has recommended increasing the power tariff by Rs 1.12 per unit while keeping in view the cost of the electricity.

 

NEPRA would review the recommendations put by the CPPA and give final approval in this regard.
