15 years have passed since his death, Allan Faqir is still loved by fans for his immaculate voice

LAHORE: (Web Desk, Dunya News) – 15th anniversary of Sindhi folk legend Allan Faqir was observed on Saturday. Though 15 years have passed since his death yet he lives in the hearts of his fans and music lovers for his immaculate voice, reported Dunya News.

Allan Faqir was born in Jamshoro in 1932. He was always a Sufi at heart and his music always inclined towards Sufism. Nature had gifted him with a beautiful voice that suited Sufi music too. His style of singing was unique and impressive. He earned a lot of respect across the globe by taking the Sufi music to tens of countries throughout the world. He was loved for his music because he used to spread the message of love for God through his music.

The Sufi singer sang at various festivals and local events before he started his professional career from Hyderabad Radio with Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s poetry. He sang at Bhit Shah for 20 years before he was introduced to Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television (PTV) by Mumtaz Mirza.

His song ‘Tere Ishq Mein Jo Bhi Doob Gaya, Usay Dunya Ki Lehron Se Darna Kya’, a duet he sang with Muhammad Ali Sheiki, made him immortal in the world of music.

Allan Faqir was given several awards for his unique style of singing. He was also awarded with the President’s Pride of Performance in 1980.

In 2000, Allan Faqir died on this day at Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi.
