Police arrested nine suspects while the bodies of both boy and girl were extracted for postmortem

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police arrested nine suspects after a boy and girl were killed and buried in Karachi area on the orders of Jirga.

The incident took place within the vicinity of Mominabad where jirga ordered death penalty for a newly married couple, Hasna and Hadi, from Kohistan who tied the knot without the consent of their parents.

Orangi Town police station SP Abid Baloch informed media that the girl’s family is involved in the crime and they were accompanied by a boy’s family to whom the girl was engaged. He confirmed the arrest of nine suspects, telling that the police have widened the area of investigation.

The action was taken upon the information gathered from area residents who revealed that a newlywed couple had disappeared just after settling in the town. Police had identified blood near one house.

Informed sources claimed that the arrested suspects confessed to committing murder of the newlywed couple. They were killed in Mominabad while the bodies were enclosed in sacks and buried in Ittehad Town graveyard, it was told.

Three of the suspects were taken to the particular graveyard where they pointed out the graves of those murdered. The bodies of both boy and girl were taken out for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the issue and summoned detailed report from Sindh IG. Both home minister Sohail Anwar and Sindh IG also took notice of the murders.
