Gabriel fined 50 pc of match fee for pushing Sarfraz

KINGSTON (Dunya News) – West Indian fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has been fined fifty percent of his match fee for pushing Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed on day four of first Test match.

As per details, Shannon Gabriel made a deliberate contact with Sarfraz Ahmed at non-striker’s end while going towards umpire Richard Illingworth to collect his cap after completing the over.

Richard Illingworth had a word with Gabriel, and later, he reported the incident along with other umpires.

The fast bowler was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct, and was not only fined but was also handed three demerit points.

Gabriel admitted his mistake afterwards and accepted the punishment announced by match referee Chris Broad.
