Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi in a tight game

DUBAI (Web Desk) - Quetta Gladiators defeated Peshawar Zalmi in a tight game with 3 wickets in the seventh match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 on Sunday as Gladiators won the toss and elected to field.

According to the details, the seventh match of PSL T20 was played between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Peshawar Zalmi were led by Shahid Afridi while Quetta Gladiators by Sarfraz Ahmad. Gladiators won the match and elected to field first.

Peshawar Zalmi did a careful start but of no use as both openers were dismissed by Muhammad Nawaz in a single over. The wickets kept falling in regular intervals afterwards which greatly hampered the Zalmi expedition. Darren Sammy finally made an entertaining rescue with his 48 runs off 31 balls. In the end Zalmi succeed in making 135 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.

Quetta Gladiators opened comfortably but started losing wickets with regular intervals. Sarfraz Ahmed and Kevin Pietersen gave the rescue to the innings. Kevin Pietersen contributed most in the win with his 35 runs off 29 balls. In the end Anwar Ali s sixer against Shaun Tait and Elton Chigumbura s four during pressure made the difference. Quetta Gladiators won by 3 wickets with one ball to spare.

Overs 14.2: Asghar gets the wicket. A much needed breakthrough. Zalmi back in the game. Gladiators at 96/5.

Overs 11.5: Mind game works for Wahab, Nawaz caught at deep square-leg. Nawaz got confident after last boundary in the over and tried to clear this one out of stadium but could not connect the short ball by Wahab properly. Gladiators 79/4.

Overs 10.3: Shahid Afridi gets the breakthrough. Sarfraz Ahmed went for a big one off Afridi but caught by Dawid Malan. Gladiators at 73/2.

Overs 10: Comfortable and classy Kevin Pietersen with Skipper Sarfraz steadily moving towards the target. Gladiators at 71/2.

Overs 7: Kevin Pietersen and Sarfraz Ahmed start the rescue mission of Gladiators after openers fall. Gladiators at 50/2.

Overs 4.4: BOWLED!!! Afridi takes Luke Wright!! Zalmi back in the game by taking two quick wickets. Gladiators have to be careful now. Gladiators at 35/2.

Overs 20: Peshawar Zalmi faced quick wicket loss right in the middle of the innings but Darren Sammy rescued the team making it possible for Zalmi to end reach the total of 135 runs with a loss of 7 wickets.

Overs 19.3: Sammy s epic cameo comes to an end. He made 48 runs off 31 balls. Zalmi at 129/7.

Overs 18.5: Shahid Yousuf gone! Caught and bowled by Nawaz. What a fine piece of bowling by Nawaz. Zalmi at 116/6.
