No new taxes proposed in Sindh budget: Sources

15 to 20 percent increase in the salaries of provincial government employees is expected.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh government has prepared the budget document for fiscal year 2019-20. Rs 13 trillion budget would have a deficit of 60 billion. The budget would be presented on June 14 in Sindh Assembly.

No new taxes will be implemented in new budget and it has been proposed that Rs 2.60 trillion to Rs 2.90 trillion should be allocated for provincial development programs.

Dunya news Sources said, Rs 35 billion would be allocated for district development programs and Rs 50 billion for new schemes.
The sources further said, Rs105 billion for law and order, Rs 72 billion for local governments and Rs20 to 30 billion for developmental schemes in Karachi would be allocated in new budget.

Sources added that 15 to 20 percent increase in the salaries of provincial government employees is expected in the budget.

20,000 new inductions in Sindh police and budget for the departments would be announced. The schemes including BISP, Kisaan card and other welfare programs would also be announced.

Non developmental budget in the field of education would be increased from Rs 188.70 billion to Rs 205.739 billion. Rs 30 billion for irrigation department, Rs 7 billion for agriculture, Rs 0.42 million for Auqaf and Rs 2 billion for law and parliamentary affairs would be allocated in the budget.

The government is likely to allocate Rs 2.5 billion for livestock and fisheries , Rs1.5 billion for minority affairs and Rs 2 billion for Sindh assembly.
