Rs25 billion as subsidy would be given to K-Electric consumers.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has allocated Rs271.5 billion as subsidies for FY2019-20.

Government would provide 6% more subsidies as compared to FY2018-19 in the fields of energy, agriculture and industries.

Lifeline consumers would get a subsidy of Rs162 billion in electricity charges while a subsidy of Rs25 billion would be given to K-Electric consumers.

The federal government would provide Rs24 billion to industries in context of LNG, while Rs 8 billion would be given as subsidy on tube wells in Balochistan and Rs 8 billion subsidy on wheat for Gilgit Baltistan.

In FY19, the government initially estimated disbursement of Rs174.74 billion in subsidy, but later the projection was raised to Rs254.99 billion.
