Eight new grid stations of capacities 220KV and 132KV are to be constructed

KARACHI (Dunya News) – K-Electric is to spend around $13 million to better electricity distribution system across the metropolis under Transmission Enhancement Plan.

Reportedly, the total cost of the project is at least $400 million and the stakeholders include German Siemens and Shanghai Electric.

Details have it that eight new grid stations of capacities 220KV and 132KV are to be constructed across the city among other developments.

It should be added here that earlier this month there were reports suggesting that Chinese Shanghai Electric was set to purchase Karachi-Electric for around $1.6 billion.

It was purported as the biggest private-sector acquisition in the history of the country.

In the meantime, China and Pakistan are linking up Gwadar and Xinjiang province with a number of mega-projects relating to power, infrastructure and transport-related constructions.
