Loudspeaker limited to Saudi grand mosques for Taraweeh prayers

The ministry has barred all other small mosques from the use of loudspeaker for Taraweeh.

MAKKAH (Daily Dunya) - Saudia Arabia has restricted the use of loudspeaker for Taraweeh prayers to the grand mosques in Ramazan.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Makkah has barred all other small mosques from the use of loudspeaker for Taraweeh and only resort to the internal one, except during calls for prayers, Friday prayers, Eids and the rainfall prayer.

Vice minister for mosque affairs Dr Toufeeq Alsadeeri has said that the officials of the ministry in all the areas have been given a written order in this regard and directed to implement it effectively.

The ministry has also banned the distribution of any publication, keeping an eye on people giving out pamphlets and literature.
