Army accused of murdering, raping, brutalising, looting Rohingya Muslims, govt denies allegations

NEW YORK: (Daily Dunya) – Amnesty International has termed the brutality of Myanmar army unleashed on Rohingya Muslims as crimes against humanity, reported Daily Dunya.

The international human rights organisation has accused the Myanmar army of murdering, raping, physically brutalising and looting Rohingya Muslims in its latest report.

Myanmar government has, however, denied the allegations saying that the army is doing an operation against terrorists only.

The report has surfaced at a time when the ASEAN countries are about to gather in Yangon for discussing this issue.

It is pertinent to mention here that ASEAN hardly ever calls a meeting to discuss the situation prevalent in one particular country.

Earlier, United Nations (UN) had also explicitly accused Myanmar of involving in genocide of Rohingya Muslims.
