ISIS finally kills 'Kurdish Angelina Jolie' Asia Antar
According to Kurdish freedom movement page, Angelina Jolie died while fighting ISIS in Syria
(Web Desk) – Kurdish fighter Asia Ramazan Antar, generally referred to as ‘Kurdish Angelina Jolie’ by the fellow fighters, was on Thursday killed by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The 22-year-old fighter was reportedly killed near Minbiç, a Syrian town recently liberated from the ISIS control.
Although the Norway-based Kurdish freedom supporters said in a Facebook post on the page ‘We Want Freedom for Kurdistan’ that Antar was killed while fighting ISIS, there are reports now that she died while fighting the Syrian opposition fighters who are backed by Turkey.
Antar was also a member of the Kurdish army’s Women’s Protection Unit that is around 7 to 10 thousand strong. The group is allied with Democratic Union Party of the Kurdish region in Syria.
