Human Rights activists confirm 6700 mass graves in Indian occupied Kashmir

Urges the authorities visit the areas of ‚ where the mass graves still haunt the inhabitants.

SRINAGAR (Web Desk) - Indian and Kashmiri Human rights activists have confirmed that there are more than 6‚000 unnamed mass graves in Indian occupied Kashmir.

They contradicted the statement of Police Director General Ashok Prasad that there were no mass graves in the territory‚ terming it as inconsistent to the records.

Noted Indian human rights defender Gautam Navlakha‚ in an interview with a Srinagar-based wire agency said that there are more than six thousand and seven hundred mass graves in the territory.

He said that by claiming that there were no mass graves in Kashmir‚ the authorities were trying to whitewash their crimes and the fact of enforced disappearances was being disappeared forcibly.

Gautam Navlakha maintained that if there were no mass graves in Kashmir‚ then what happened to the report by the Human Rights Commission of the territory about the same and that the puppet Chief Minister‚ Omar Abdullah‚ had himself confessed the fact that there were mass graves in the valley.

Renowned Kashmiri rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Unto‚ said‚ the statement of Ashok Prasad lacks the factual evidence and the police chief must visit the areas of north Kashmir‚ where the mass graves still haunt the inhabitants.
