Jessica Hardy won the women's 50 metres breaststroke title at the world swimming championships.

Jessica Hardy of the United States won the womens 50 metres breaststroke title to stop Rebecca Sonis attempt at sweeping all three breaststroke golds at the world swimming championships in Shanghai on Sunday.Hardy clocked 30.19 seconds to win gold ahead of Yuliya Efimova of Russia who took silver in 30.49, while Soni claimed the bronze in 30.58. Soni had won the 100 and 200 breaststroke titles earlier.
