Kolkata Knight Riders beat the Chennai Super Kings while Mumbai Indian beat the Delhi Daredevils.

In the first rain affected match at Eden Gardens Stadium, host Kolkata Knight Riders beat the Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs after the Duckworth/Lewis method was applied. In the match the Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. The kings scored a lowly total of 114 runs in 20 over at the loss of four wickets. The Knight Riders started their innings and were 61 at the loss of two wickets by the 10th over when rain hampered the match. This was enough for the host to win by 10 runs after the D/L method was applied. Iqbal Abdulla won the man of the match award for the Knight Riders.In the second match at the Wankhede Stadium, host Mumbai Indians beat the Delhi Daredevils by 32 runs. The Daredevils won the toss and chose to field. The Mumbai Indians scored a total of 178 runs in 20 overs at the loss of four wickets. The Daredevils though were not able to chase the target as they were bowled out for 146 runs in 19.5 overs. Rayudu won the man of the match award for the Mumbai Indians.
