IPL: Delhi Daredevils triumphs as Kochi Tuskers Kerala slip

The Daredevils thrashed the Kochi Tuskers by 38 runs in front of their home crowd.

In the match, the Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first at the Nehru Stadium in Kochi. A superb innings by Virender Sehwag helped the daredevils score a total of 157 runs at the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sehwag who won the man of the match award played the match winning innings as he scored 80 runs while Sreesanth took two wickets for the Tuskers. The Kochi Tuskers Kerala stuttered at the start of their innings as they lost early wickets. At one point the Tuskers were 28-3 after 4 overs. The tuskers that stabilised the score but could not recover enough to claim the win as they were bowled out at 119 runs in 18.5 overs.Ravindra Jadeja scored 31, Bradley Hodge 27 while Mahela Jayawardene scored 18 runs. Morne Morkel and Roelof Merwe took three wickets each while Ajit Agarkar and Irfan Pathan took two wickets each for the Daredevils. This was the 36th match of the Indian Premier league.
