Caribbean Tour: Pakistan clinches series after winning third ODI

Pakistan beat the West Indies by three wickets in the third match to win the five match series 3-0.

The match at the Kensington Oval in Barbados was hampered due to rain and as a result, the match was revised from 50 to 45overs. Pakistan won the toss against the West Indies and opted to field first. Lendl Simmons scored 51 runs while Darren Bravo scored 47 runs as the team went on the score a lowly 171 runs after being bowled out in 43.4 overs. For Pakistan, Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Raiz both took three wickets while Muhammad Hafeez claimed two. Pakistan looked set to chase the 172 run target but after the opening lineup collapsed, Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Akaml brought stability as they scored 62 and 30 runs respectively. Hammad Azam also scored 36 runs as the team successfully chased the target with 29 balls to spare and three wickets in hand. Ravi Rampaul was the West Indian danger man as he took four wickets while Devendra Bishoo took three. The win helped Pakistan clinch the five match series after winning three consecutive matches. Man of the match award went to Misbah-ul-Haq whose clam innings help Pakistan win the match. The fourth match will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on May 2, as Pakistan look for a series whitewash.
