Roddick, Raonic, Fish cruise into Memphis semifinals

US top seed Andy Roddick, seeking his third Memphis crown and 30th ATP title, outlasted Australian Lleyton Hewitt 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 Friday to reach the semi-finals of an ATP and WTA Memphis event.

Canadian wild card Milos Raonic, seeking his second title in as many weeks, and US fourth seed Mardy Fish booked a semi-final matchup with victories on Friday at an ATP and WTA indoor event. Raonic has rocketed up the ATP rankings this year going from 156 in the world at the end of last year to 59th. Raonic, a 20-year-old whose ATP San Jose crown was the first by a Canadian in 16 years, kept his sizzling run going by firing 20 aces to defeat US qualifier Robert Kendrick 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, in the 1.32 million-dollar tournament.Fish eliminated US fifth seed Sam Querrey 6-3, 6-4. Querrey double-faulted away a break in the fifth game of the second set and Fish held out from there to advance in 79 minutes.Later matches were to pitch US top seed Andy Roddick against Australian veteran Lleyton Hewitt in a meeting of former world number ones and 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina against US qualifier Michael Russell.
