Spain shines in Laureus Sports Awards 2010

Spanish tennis sensation Rafael Nadal shined in the annual ceremony of Laureus Sports Awards, where his compatriot footballers were also awarded as the best team of the year. The ceremony was held to recognize the sports achiever of 2010.

Rafael Nadal, after having a sizzling year in which he won three grand slams, was given the honor of ‘Sportsman of the year’, while American skier Lindsey Vonn claimed the ‘Sportswoman of the year’ award. Spanish football team chosen as the best team of the year and all team members received the award. Former French footballer Zinedine Zidane acknowledged with ‘Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award’.
