Indias cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 28, tied the knot with long-time girlfriend Sakshi Rawat, 23, at a resort on the outskirts of Dehradun on Sunday evening. The wedding was out of bounds for the media, with the police setting up a three-layer cordon leading to the luxurious Vishranti Resort and Spa, where the ceremony took place. Sakshis family had said, after the couples engagement on Saturday, that they would marry in October. But the skippers tight cricketing schedule might have prompted the couple to advance their wedding. In traditional Indian style, Dhoni arrived at the venue riding a horse. He wore a black sherwani with golden threadwork.Dhonis close friends from the cricketing world, Bollywood and politics attended the wedding. They included cine star John Abraham, cricketers RP Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra, and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje. Guests have demanded light English and Hindi music at the party, said local DJ Kingsey, who was playing the music. The couple is expected to host a reception in Mumbai on July 7, Dhonis birthday. Dhoni and Sakshi, who hails from Aurangabad, are school friends from the skippers hometown Ranchi.
