Layyah: 8 of a family slain over land dispute

As many as eight people including seven women of a family were ruthlessly axed to death over a land dispute in a village at Layyah, in the limits of Fateh Pur police station, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.Reportedly, two brothers namely Shah Rasool and Farooq, resident of village DDA-75, had a clash with their 28-year-old uncle Shah Ali over a piece of land. Today, both brothers got infuriated after having an argument with their uncle over closure of irrigation water and later axed Ali to death. Later, the accused also slaughtered Alis mother, 55, and his seven sisters who got to the site after hearing the hue and cry. However, the killers managed to escape from the scene. The murdered sisters were aged between 18 to 40 years. Police launched raids to arrest the accused with no arrest so far.
