Khar invites Mirwaiz, Geelani over Kashmir issue

Pakistan extended invitations to leaders of both factions of Hurriyat Conference to visit Islamabad.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Hina Rabani Khar has invited Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani in Islamabad for consultation to resolve Kashmir Dispute.The invitations were extended to Mirwaiz and Ali Gilani by the Pakistan High Commissioner, Shahid Malik, in New Delhi. The invitation was accepted by both the leaders.The date for Hurriyat leaders’ proposed visit to Pakistan, according to sources, will be determined through mutual consultation between government of Pakistan and Hurriyat leaderships. During their proposed visit to Pakistan, the Hurriyat leaders are scheduled to discuss all the matters including Kashmir issue.The Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik assured both the Hurriyat leaders that Pakistan would not only continue its moral, political, diplomatic support to Kashmiris till the resolution of Kashmir issue but would also put Kashmir issue on the top of the agenda in every process of talks with New Delhi.He said the resolution of Kashmir issue is incorporated in the Pakistan’s national policy and there is no question of ignoring it. “The sooner the Kashmir issue is resolved, the better it would be for not only the subcontinent but also the entire South Asia,” he said.
