The Governor has no autohirty on the appointement of a judge and only looks at the general documents, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has said. CJP along with a 14-member Larger Bench was hearing a petition by Sindh High Court Bar Association about the appointment of two ad hoc judges of the Sindh High Court. CJP said that all the rules had been clearly fixed about the judges appointment in Aljahad Trust Case. Complainants lawyer Malik Muhammad Qayyum said that the judges who ruled in Aljahad Trust Case themselves violated the decision. CJP maintained that the ruling was effective and would not be reviewed. Complainants lawyers said that the appointment of judges took place on the advice of governor and chief justice, adding that president should abide by their opinion.
