Search operation in south Punjab soon: Tasnim

State Minister for Interior Tasnim Ahmed Qureshi has said that the government is going to start search operation against the suspected militants and the terrorists in southern Punjab soon. Talking to media during his visit to the Central Jail Staff Training Institute (CJSTI) in Lahore on Tuesday, the minister said that the government has information that terrorists are trying to launch their roots in this area. Referring the Mian Channu blast, Qureshi was of the view that the blast was not an attack adding that the agencies have termed the incident as an explosion during preparation of the bombs and other terrorist materials. He also ruled out the apprehensions about major security threats arising in the Punjab in the shape of militancy and banned organizations. The minister urged the people to remain alert about their surrounding even in the remote areas and to share every information regarding the activities by any suspected person for the sake of national security. To a question about Malakand Operation, he said that the Army was going towards success. He paid tribute to the masses from across the country for supporting the government and the Army .He explained that military operation was not going on in Waziristan and termed it as only search operation against the militants challenging the writ of the government. On another question, the minister said that the investigations are underway regarding the possible involvement of the foreign elements behind the terrorists activities in Pakistan adding that until getting the result, no allegation could be raised against anyone. He assured that after the investigation, the government would share the information with the media and public and the supporters of the terrorists will be exposed without any delay. Tasnim said that the government was engaged with the Indians regarding the investigations into Mumbai terror attacks and no hurdles were being created from Pakistan side adding that the friends countries also played a positive role for the dialogue between two countries. The Prison Police contingent presented guard of honour to the State Minister. The minister also visited the class rooms, museum and library of the institute and the principle of (CJSTI) gave him briefing. Tasnim Qureshi assured that the government will provide every facility to make the institution advance and according to the needs of the modern age.
