President, PM, COAS discuss ongoing military operation
Prime Minster Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani called on President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed matters relating to ongoing military operation. In a meeting held at the Presidency, they also discussed the arrangements made for the relief and rehabilitation of the dislocated people in Malakand and Waziristan. The President said fight against militancy and terrorism would end with the complete elimination of militants. The government would ensure safe and honorable return of the displaced people to their home, he added. The Chief of Army Staff also briefed the President about his recent visits abroad. Earlier, the Army Chief called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and briefed him about the ongoing military operation in Malakand Division. The Prime Minister said the nation is proud of its armed forces particularly those who laid their lives for the national cause. They discussed matters relating to national security. The Army Chief also apprised the Prime Minister about his recent visits to France, Germany and Russia.
