ISPR denies report on Imran-Munter meeting

ISPR denied a news report that Imran Khan was introduced to Munter in the presence of DG ISI.

A spokesman for ISPR has categorically denied the news report which appeared in Sunday Times, a UK newspaper, and also carried in the national media that Imran Khan, the chairman PTI, was introduced to Cameron Munter, US ambassador to Pakistan, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, the DG ISI. It is totally baseless and concocted story, the ISPR spokesman said.Quoting sources, the report stated that the PTI chief was introduced to Munter in Pashas presence, adding that Imran Khan is supported by the Pakistani intelligence agency and military.In Sundays Faisalabad rally, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders openly claimed that Imran Khan is a pawn of the establishment. Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar alleged that Imran was backed by intelligence agencies.In a recent interview with an Indian journalist, Imran Khan said that if he comes to power, he will be General Ashfaq Pervez Kayanis boss. Imran Khan further explained that his agenda is to bring the Army under him and make the ISI report to him directly. In an earlier interview, Imran Khan denied any involvement with the intelligence and military.
