The import of 25 rail engines from India was challenged Wednesday in the Lahore High Court.

Advocate Chaudhry Nadeem Ahmad filed a petition in the court, contending that the national exchequer was empty but the government was importing engines from India rather than assembling them locally at the Risalpur Factory. The import would badly affect the national economy, he said. The petitioner requested the court to issue a stay order in this regard.
