National Electric Power Regulatory Authority permitted KESC to raise electricity tariff by Re 0.32.

The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation submitted an application to NEPRA, maintaining that the KESC had generated electricity by furnace oil in June because the gas supply was minimised.The KESC said in its application that the cost of power generation had surged by Rs 1.61 due to the use of furnace oil and sought an increase of Re 0.64 in the tariff of one electricity unit.The permission for the tariff increase was given for the month of June and it would be included in the new bills.
