Faisalabad: People thrash robbers, police rescue them

Two robbers who injured two persons during a robbery were held by citizens who beat them.

Police arrested the robbers when angry people went violent and there ensued a battle between police and the people. Police had to fire teargas shells to restore peace. According to the details two dacoits were robbing Rizwan, a shopkeeper. On resistance they injured him. People gathered and took hold of them. They were being mercilessly beaten by the people when police came to rescue them.One dacoit jumped into a nullah to save life. The other one took refuge in a shop. When police tried to rescue them, the angry mob attacked the police. They damaged the police vehicle carrying the accused.Police requested the people to let them go. The dacoits were taken in armoured vehicle to the lock up.
