Sindh govt imposes ban on pillion riding in Karachi

The ban does not apply to women, children below the age of 12 years and senior citizens.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Government of Sindh has imposed a ban on pillion riding in the port city due to worsening situation of law and order.

As per the notification issued by the provincial government, the ban will remain in place for one month with immediate effect. It states that the government is satisfied that in order to maintain law and order and to prevent disgruntled groups/elements and to avoid any untoward incident it is necessary to take immediate action.

Notification further states that the ban does not apply to women, children below the age of 12 years and senior citizens.

It is pertinent to mention here that on Saturday, renowned religions scholar Maulana Adil and his driver were killed by unidentified armed men in Karachi.
