Nawaz, Fazl agree to pursue common strategy

Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, the two leaders agreed to pursue a common strategy against the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Sources said that Nawaz Sharif assured to Fazlur Rehman that his party would play its due roll of opposition in the parliament and added that sitting with the government is a negation of our political stance.

Nawaz Sharif asked the JUI-F chief to convene the meeting of Rahbar Committee soon so that a common strategy and consensus position should be decided.

Nawaz Sharif said that we will chalk out a common strategy against the government and added that currently my presence in England due to illness is causing problems.

Speaking on the accasion JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman said that JUI-F and PML-N are close allies. He said that two major political parties of the country are being harassed by filing cases against their leaders.

Fazlur Rehman suggested that the leaders of these parties should refuse to appear in court and start  Jail Bharo  (fill the jails) movement.
